I'll say it again: China's new energy sector is going through a 'wolf pack going global' phase. Even with protective tariffs in the EU, they've still managed to beat Tesla black and blue. In the EU, Chinese EV total sales grew 250% year-on-year, with BYD leading at 272%. Ford's CEO, who drives a Xiaomi SU7 every day, sees it clearly. He said that without punitive tariffs for protection, traditional car companies in the US and Europe would be wiped out by China's highly cost-effective new energy vehicles. But tariffs aren't a cure-all. The wolf pack will gradually push traditional car companies from the US and Europe out of peripheral countries until they lose their global market share. The result of being confined to their domestic markets is a loss of competitiveness, and once competition opens up, they'll be completely done for.
