[Bolivia Plans to Integrate Cryptocurrency into the Formal Financial System]
BlockBeats News, November 26, according to Reuters, Bolivia's Minister of Economy José Gabriel Espinoza stated on Tuesday that Bolivia is negotiating to secure over $9 billion in multilateral financing for public and private projects.
Espinoza said that as part of a broader modernization initiative, the Bolivian government will integrate cryptocurrency into the formal financial system, starting with stablecoins.
Espinoza stated that Bolivian banks will be allowed to offer cryptocurrency services, enabling them to 'begin operating as legal payment instruments.' These services will include savings accounts, credit cards, and loans.
