[Lighter testnet launches spot trading feature, supporting ETH, PROVE, and ZK tokens] Lighter has rolled out its spot trading feature on the testnet, so the mainnet launch should be coming soon. The testnet spot trading supports 3 tokens: ETH, PROVE, and ZK. These token choices are pretty interesting—it's like a zero-knowledge family bucket. ETH needs no introduction; Lighter is an Ethereum zk-Rollup, and the ETH mainnet itself is betting big on advancing zero-knowledge proofs. As for ZK, it's a zero-knowledge proof L2, and Lighter previously ran an L3 testnet on zkSync. Regarding @SuccinctLabs (PROVE), they are a key technical partner of Lighter, enabling "bridge-less cross-chain" through SP1 zkVM and a decentralized prover network. This allows users to securely lock assets (like ETH, stETH) in Ethereum L1 custody contracts while leveraging the value of these assets via ZK proofs for high-leverage trading on Lighter's L2. This setup ensures top-tier asset security (no need to transfer via cross-chain bridges) while achieving efficient execution on L2.
