Kenya and the European Union enjoy a strong partnership built on many years of collaboration and elevated by the Economic Partnership Agreement, which came into force in July 2024. This agreement gives Kenya duty-free and quota-free access to the EU's 450 million market, opening new opportunities for our agricultural products. We call on the EU to support our agenda of reforming the African Union so that it can be fit-for-purpose as Africa's unified and effective voice. Europe’s experience and technical strength can help us build an AU that responds to the needs and aspirations of our people Met European Union Council President António Costa on the sidelines of the 7th African Union-European Union Summit, Luanda, Angola We discussed the grave situation in Sudan, including the loss of life, the humanitarian crisis, and the destruction of public and private property, and infrastructure. We agreed that Sudan needs an inclusive political settlement that brings in all stakeholders, including political parties, civil society, and other national actors. A military path cannot deliver lasting peace. Only a broad, credible process can bring stability and restore hope for the Sudanese people.(William Samoei Ruto, PhD)
