Nibuhooro abanya Rubanda? We came to present the NRM Manifesto for 2026 to 2031, a continuation of our journey of peace, development and prosperity. As I travelled from Kisoro, I reflected on the value of peace. Our people in Kisoro know this well because they neighbour DRC, a country that has suffered wars for many years. Here in Uganda, we defeated Kony and the other rebel groups and secured peace, and we must protect it. With peace in place, we have pushed development across Kigezi and the whole country. We worked on the Kabale to Kisoro road and we are preparing more strategic roads like Kisoro to Nkuringo, Katuna to Muko to Kamuganguzi, Hamurwa to Kanungu to Buhoma, and the Kabale to Bunyonyi to Kisoro to Mgahinga route where funding is already secured. Rubanda should know that NRM’s plan is clear and continuing. Let us protect the gains and move forward together.(Yoweri K Museveni)
