[BlackRock Executive: Most Clients Invest in Bitcoin Primarily for Its 'Digital Gold' Value Storage Function, Not for Payment Use] According to a report by Cointelegraph, BlackRock's Head of Digital Assets, Robbie Mitchnick, stated in an interview that when deciding whether to invest in Bitcoin, clients of most major global asset management companies do not consider its application in daily payments. Instead, investors are more focused on Bitcoin's 'digital gold' or value storage function. Robbie Mitchnick noted that for Bitcoin to become a mainstream payment tool, there is still much work to be done in areas such as scalability, the Lightning Network, and others. Meanwhile, stablecoins have achieved 'great success' in the payment sector. As an efficient means of value transfer, they align closely with market demand. Stablecoins have the potential to significantly expand their current scope of use, not only within the cryptocurrency trading ecosystem and DeFi but also in practical applications such as retail remittances, enterprises, multinational corporations, cross-border transactions, and capital market settlement activities.
