๐ช๐บ MiCA Stablecoin Update: 17 Authorized Stablecoin (EMT) Issuers across the EU
Almost 1.5 years into MiCAโs application for stablecoins, Europeโs stablecoin (EMT) ecosystem continues to grow and mature โ with more licensed issuers, more currencies, and wider geographic coverage. ๐
๐ Current snapshot (November 2025):
โ 17 authorized EMT issuers
25 authorized EMTs (single fiat-backed stablecoins):
โข 14 EUR-denominated ๐ถ
โข 9 USD-denominated ๐ต
โข 1 CZK-denominated ๐จ๐ฟ
โข 1 GBP-denominated ๐ฌ๐ง
Interestingly, there are still zero (!) authorized Asset-Referenced Tokens (ARTs) under MiCA. ARTs โ stablecoins backed by baskets of currencies/assets or single non-currency assets (e.g. gold) โ account for roughly one-third of the MiCA framework (Titles III & IV), yet have seen no market uptake so far.
At @circle, 1.5 years after MiCAโs entry into force, weโre proud to issue Europeโs largest regulated EUR and USD stablecoins โ setting the benchmark for trusted onchain e-money in the EU.(Patrick Hansen)
