Seeing Succinct's evolution over the past six months, ZK technology is advancing rapidly. In just half a year, Succinct's SP1 Hypercube can now use 16 RTX 5090 GPUs to prove 99.7% of Ethereum blocks in 12 seconds. This is a big improvement compared to May this year, when it could prove 93% of blocks in 12 seconds. These optimizations include arithmetic layers, GPU provers, executor speed, and cluster orchestration, representing a comprehensive and in-depth optimization.
At the same time, capital expenditure can even be under $100,000. This means individuals or small studios now have the opportunity to run proving nodes.
It's not just Succinct—other ZK players are also making progress, which will ultimately bring higher TPS to Ethereum while maintaining decentralization (achieving 10,000 TPS on Ethereum L1 through ZK proof technology, etc.).
You could say ZK technology is one of the most important pieces of Ethereum's roadmap.
