This is because EVs are mostly charged at night, and many power plants have unused electricity during the day since most places consume power during the daytime. Also, I’ve roughly understood the concept of robots. Musk is indeed a genius!' 2. 'It’s time to take a serious look at Tesla again. I’m planning to buy a Tesla car soon and experience what autonomous driving feels like.' Duanyongping’s initial attitude towards Tesla was based on two points: 1. The business model isn’t good. The four-wheel business is hard to differentiate, and car products are almost homogeneous. 2. Musk as a person is unreliable and has character issues. The issue with the business model is a qualitative analysis, and there’s not much wrong with that. Even Buffett has said he doesn’t like the four-wheel business, as it’s not a good business model. Duanyongping always looks at the essence of a business: whether it can continuously produce differentiated products and how long this advantage can last—what’s often referred to as the company’s moat. As for Musk’s character, it’s true that on social media, Musk often makes unreliable statements and decisions. Remember when he even challenged Meta’s Zuckerberg to a cage fight? But there’s a fine line between genius, madman, and obsessive. Even Steve Jobs had his obsessive and harsh side, but that didn’t stop him from being regarded as one of the greatest CEOs.
