We continue to mourn the loss of 45 lives from Hurricane Melissa, with nine cases under investigation and 15 people still missing. Our thoughts remain with their families. Relief efforts are ongoing; 115,000 packages delivered, 1.3 million meals served, and the JDF operating seven hubs with 26 supply points. Westmoreland, St. James, and St. Elizabeth remain hardest hit, with 156,000 homes damaged, including 24,000 total losses. Health teams continue outreach with mobile clinics, pharmacies, and mental health support. Over 16,000 donors have contributed J556 million to support recovery. Recovery is progressing steadily, with water, telecommunications, and essential services being restored, and national stabilization and long-term reconstruction underway.(Andrew Holness)
