We are truly honoured to host this extraordinary meeting of the European Economic and Social Committee’s Bureau, here in Nicosia. Our Union’s last divided capital. A place where the promise of European reunification awaits to be fulfilled. Today’s event carries special significance. It is the first to take place in the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union. And in this regard, it marks the beginning of our Presidency journey. A journey we look forward to with great anticipation and a deep sense of responsibility and pride. Proud for Cyprus to be the voice of the 27. Proud for Cyprus to be at the helm of the Council and to deliver. With ambition, purpose, and clear vision for our Union, and for our citizens.
