The robbers stole watches and the victims' phones, and forced one of them to transfer cryptocurrency from their account. Ultimately, the robbers took a watch worth £450,000 and £1.1 million (approximately $1.44 million) in cryptocurrency. After the incident, the victims were left in the Five Mile Drive area of Oxford.
Subsequently, police arrested a 21-year-old man from London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, kidnapping, and multiple driving offenses, and released him on bail until January 14. A 37-year-old man from London was also arrested on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping and released on bail until January 30. A 23-year-old man from Kent was arrested on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping and released on bail until February 7. A 19-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, and possession of items used for fraud, and released on bail until January 29.
