**[Analysis: The U.S. Will Not Establish a Bitcoin Reserve Unless Other Countries Act First]** Odaily Planet Daily News – Crypto entrepreneur Mike Alfred stated in a recent podcast that the U.S. government is unlikely to initiate a Bitcoin strategic reserve in the short term unless other countries take the lead. He mentioned that the U.S. would only incorporate Bitcoin into the strategic reserve framework established by this year’s executive order when “external pressure becomes significant enough.” Alfred predicted that by 2033, the price of Bitcoin would reach $1 million, at which point “almost all countries will directly or indirectly hold Bitcoin” and regard it as a strategic reserve asset. He noted that the U.S. government has historically been reluctant to even acknowledge Bitcoin, “but under Trump’s push, the atmosphere has changed significantly.” Previously, Galaxy Digital analyst Alex Thorn predicted that there is a “high probability” the U.S. will officially announce holding Bitcoin as a strategic asset this year. Meanwhile, several industry insiders have warned that if the U.S. does not act soon, it may be “overtaken by other countries in laying out their plans.” (cointelegraph)
