Some people will always tell you how awesome it is to buy low and sell high, but the problem is, no one can always be right. If someone really could do that, they’re either a time traveler or someone we ordinary folks would never see—they should be locked up in a lab somewhere. At the very least, these people wouldn’t be on Twitter trying to make a few bucks off you.
Most people’s market predictions are only 50% accurate, like flipping a coin. Sure, they might get it right five or ten times in a row, but the longer they keep flipping, the higher the chance they’ll mess up. The way to avoid this is to find your own investment logic. When someone shares their strategy, you should learn their method, not just copy their results.
I can’t speak for others, but for me, the best way to make money is to hold and trade based on cycles. Try to make sure the money you earn by luck doesn’t get lost by skill. Buy core assets on dips, at least hold for the long term, and for other assets, sell when it’s time to sell, switch positions when it’s time to switch. And never go ALL IN—always keep some funds aside so you can stay in the game.
