DappRadar's peak offer in 2021 was $8,000 for homepage placement + articles + assistance with app listings, comparable to the media prices of CoinDesk and Cointelegraph at the time.
Back then, a certain top-tier exchange, in an effort to compete with the BNB chain, even considered acquiring them. However, the deal fell through because the founder of DappRadar didn’t respond to messages, and that was the end of it.
In the end, thanks to their traffic + revenue + strategic positioning, they launched a token at the end of 2021.
Although the market has somewhat stabilized since then, the entrepreneurial wave of on-chain applications never returned. You could say it’s a thing of the past now.
Back in the day, everyone was scrambling to run ads on DappRadar. They’d reply saying you’d have to wait in line for ages, and the price was non-negotiable. Who would’ve thought that four years later, they’d shut down completely.
