[ENS Migrates L2 Network Namechain to Nethermind's Surge] Ethereum Name Service (ENS) has announced the migration of its L2 network Namechain to Nethermind's Surge, a native sharding framework built on the Taiko technology stack. ENS stated that native ordering and native sharding technologies can support the decentralized core values required by Namechain, including rapid finality, Ethereum-native settlement, and censorship resistance. Through Surge, ENS is launching Namechain as the first-phase shard and has planned an upgrade path for the second phase.
