Due to crazy spending at college football programs, they are now being forced to approach Private Equity funds for the arms race. School conferences are mortgaging their future, promising future revenue streams for money now to pay for their programs. Other sports are being sacrificed at these schools because of the never ending battle to fund football and basketball. Since July over 182 sports programs have been cut as they are forced to compete with ever more expensive football and basketball programs. The NCAA has lost control and cannot manage these issues. In reality, the best solution is to update the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961.
