[Hassett Confirms October Jobs Report Will Be Released Without Unemployment Rate Data]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Kevin Hassett, Director of the U.S. White House National Economic Council, stated that the October jobs report will not include unemployment rate figures. Hassett said: 'The household survey was not conducted in October, so we will only get half of the jobs report. We will receive data on job positions but not the unemployment rate, and this situation will only last for one month.' The U.S. nonfarm payroll report consists of two surveys—one targeting businesses (producing the main nonfarm payroll figures) and the other targeting households (responsible for the unemployment rate). While many businesses keep records and report data electronically, retrospectively contacting workers and asking them to recall their employment status during a specific week in October will be more challenging.
