[AMD's Positive Outlook Drives Benchmark Index Higher, U.S. Stocks Remain in a Complex Emotional Mix] Jinshi Data, November 12 – On Wednesday, as the rebound in tech stocks helped major indices climb and optimism grew over ending the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, U.S. stocks extended their gains. The S&P 500 Index rose 0.1%, with AMD (AMD.O) providing a positive sales growth outlook that helped drive the benchmark index toward its fourth consecutive day of gains. Meanwhile, the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 Index fell 0.1%. Matt Maley of Miller Tabak said: 'Yesterday we experienced a rebound where everything except tech stocks rose, but this morning those tech stocks are performing well. Therefore, investors don’t seem as concerned as Michael Burry is now about the recurring expenses of the AI phenomenon.' AJ Bell Investment Director Russ Mould stated: 'A corrective decline is a healthy and necessary phenomenon in financial markets, but investors will be wary of any signs that this is evolving into a clear sell-off. At present, we are not truly in that territory yet, but risks are increasing ahead of Nvidia's third-quarter earnings report.'
