Tom Lee: Bitcoin expectations cooling down, more optimistic about Ethereum, projected to reach $9,000-$12,000 by year-end In a recent podcast interview, Fundstrat founder Tom Lee shared his insights on the crypto market trends leading up to the end of the year. He believes that although Bitcoin's hype has cooled due to recent sideways trading and early holders cashing out, BTC still has the potential to hit $200,000 this year as an under-allocated asset class. However, compared to Bitcoin, he is more confident in Ethereum's growth potential. Lee pointed out that institutions, including Cathie Wood, are starting to notice how stablecoins and tokenized gold are gradually diverting demand away from BTC. These assets operate on smart contract public chains like Ethereum. With Wall Street giants like Larry Fink pushing for full asset tokenization, growth expectations for ETH are being revised upward. Tom Lee mentioned that according to Fundstrat's technical strategy head Mark Newton, Ethereum could rise to $9,000-$12,000 by January 2025, suggesting ETH might double in value by year-end.
