Currently, in the x402 facilitator, there are several metrics: number of requests/transaction volume/number of sellers (partner servers)/number of buyers (currently including AI agents, etc.). Looking at these metrics and based on x402scan data, overall, Coinbase is currently in first place, followed by PayAI. Over the past 24 hours, their transaction volumes are quite close ($178,100 vs. $137,300). If this trend continues, could PayAI catch up? Among these metrics, transaction volume is the most reflective of real adoption. Of course, it needs to be considered comprehensively—when both the number of sellers and buyers reach a certain scale, transaction volume reflects the true scale of adoption. Over the past three days, Coinbase's transaction volume has reached nearly $800,000, with PayAI in second place at over $140,000. Daydreams has seen rapid growth in the number of transaction requests, with a transaction volume of around $5,000. Looking at the number of buyers and sellers, Coinbase has 32,800 buyers and 2,570 sellers; PayAI has 12,300 buyers and 1,204 sellers; and Daydreams has 5,202 buyers and 1,092 sellers, showing decent growth as well. The number of buyers and sellers is also important—the more sellers there are, the more diverse the services offered; the more buyers there are, the greater the demand, driving overall economic growth. X402 is still in its early stages, so there’s still room for latecomers. It all depends on who can attract truly valuable buyers and sellers to integrate into the platform. Eventually, network effects will emerge here, and it’s estimated that around three players will dominate the majority of the market share, with the remaining smaller portion divided among several others.
