The Uniswap proposal isn't the end of the decentralized DAO model. It's the next generation. Tokens like UNI can provide holders real ownership of onchain infrastructure and cash flows without asking them to design and vote on every single change and improvement in the project. No, it's not the same vision that many had five years ago, when DAO members were considered daily active managers of protocol development in the place of devcos expected to walk away from their projects after launch. That's good! That's progress. It's a vision of a new type of capital asset that gives tokenholders ultimate ownership and control over digital property, including the powers to contract for services, delegate responsibility, and anything else they choose related to the property they own. Meanwhile, entrepreneurs can keep building without regulatory handcuffs. This is the "minimize governance, maximize ownership" model that @jessewldn and I wrote about here. Expect to see a lot more of this over time: https://blog.variant.fund/tokens-versus-equity(Jake Chervinsky)
