During the last bull market, many accounts followed by CZ turned into MEMEs. The zoo was absolutely wild back then.
Dogecoin, SHIB, ApeCoin, PigCoin...
Weibo and Douyin were flooded with these trending topics.
This time around, it seems like MEMEs aren’t even making it to trending topics outside the crypto space.
The difference in traffic is huge—you can tell just by looking at market caps.
SHIB hit a market cap of over $50 billion at its peak, right?
Back then, MEMEs with market caps in the billions were an everyday thing. If a coin only hit a few hundred million, people would call it trash.
I remember Twitter accounts followed by CZ could sell for over 100K USDT, and if Elon Musk followed you, it could go for over 1 million USDT.
This bull market is definitely nothing like the last one. Everything’s “returning to value” across the board.
Unfollowing some people is actually a good thing. There are just too many shills out there. Some people only aim to get CZ or “Sister Yi” to follow them so they can land more sponsorships, and they’ll promote any garbage, which easily misleads retail investors.
