I usually use three models—Deepseek, Grok, and ChatGPT—at the same time to answer questions. On one hand, I worry about AI hallucinations, so I cross-verify with multiple models. On the other hand, different models have their own strengths and weaknesses for specific types of questions. For example, I’ve found Grok’s arithmetic skills are absolutely terrible, completely failing. When I invest in KOL rounds, I often calculate how many tokens I can get by sending the AI the formula: amount/valuation * total token supply. But Grok often gets the math wrong. Also, Deepseek doesn’t support image recognition and can only OCR text, so when I see something in daily life and don’t know what it is, I can only take a photo and ask ChatGPT.
As the number of AI models grows, and each model has its own pros and cons, figuring out which model to use for the most effective results becomes a hassle. @AlloraNetwork has added a routing layer on top of all AI models, connecting users with various models. Users only need to specify their questions and needs, and Allora can coordinate multiple underlying models, automatically selecting and deploying the model best suited for the expected outcome—or even enabling multiple models to collaborate and brainstorm together to answer a question. So, what Allora is doing is quite practical in addressing industry pain points.
In the Allora network, every AI inference requires payment using its token. However, unlike other projects, this payment is more like a “pay-as-you-wish” tip. Users can decide how much they’re willing to pay, incentivizing AI models through tipping-based ratings. If users are completely unwilling to pay, the weight of the AI models involved in the task will also be reduced.
Allora’s background is pretty impressive, having secured investments from top-tier institutions like Polychain, Framework, and dao5, with a total disclosed funding amount of $35 million. Plus, the project has been around for a while—according to founder @nickemmons’ LinkedIn, it’s been in development since 2019. With such resources and scale, it’s a bit odd that they’ve only announced a launch on Binance Alpha, without contracts or listings on smaller exchanges. If the price opens low enough, I’ll consider picking up some and wait for announcements about other major exchanges.
