I have signed new sanctions decisions of Ukraine. And these now are special ones. Russia is trying to prolong the war, expanding its efforts to justify aggression and “normalize” the occupation of Ukrainian territories. Russia has also recently made a demonstrative political decision to impose “sanctions” against Ukrainian officials, in particular against the Prime Minister of Ukraine. Such behavior by Russia deserves far greater global pressure and a broader scope of that pressure – against all sources and schemes financing Russia’s war machine, and against every individual spreading propaganda and obstructing decisions aimed at achieving a genuine peace. We will share our new sanctions proposals with the relevant partners. Today’s Ukrainian sanctions decisions include individuals working in Putin’s government structures and those involved in the looting of temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, one of his bagmen, a Russian military intelligence functionary, and one collaborator. We are also launching action against Russian publishing houses engaged in justifying aggression and spreading Russian propaganda worldwide.
