[World Economic Forum Chair Warns: AI, Cryptocurrency, and Debt Could Become Three Major Bubbles]
Jin10 News, November 6 – The Chair of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Børge Brende, stated on Wednesday that global financial markets may face three potential bubbles that warrant global attention. While visiting São Paulo, Brazil's financial hub, Brende said: 'In the future, we may see bubbles emerge. One is the cryptocurrency bubble, the second is the AI bubble, and the third is the debt bubble.'
He added that government debt levels have never been this high since 1945. Brende pointed out that while AI has the potential to bring significant productivity gains, it could also pose a threat to a large number of white-collar jobs. 'In the worst-case scenario, we might see phenomena similar to the "Rust Belt" in the United States appear in major cities. In cities with a high concentration of back-office roles and white-collar workers, their jobs are more likely to be replaced by AI.'
As an example, he mentioned that companies like Amazon and Nestlé have recently announced layoff plans, which reflect this trend.
