The Government of Jamaica is advancing a structured recovery from Hurricane Melissa through four phases: Immediate Relief, Emergency Relief, Stabilization, and Recovery, leading to long-term rebuilding. We are currently in the Emergency Relief Phase, focused on clearing and reopening main road corridors, restoring electricity and water systems, and expanding the distribution of relief supplies across affected parishes. Medical and psychosocial support are being extended to shelters and vulnerable communities, while international partners continue to assist through airlifted supplies and technical support.(Andrew Holness)
