This morning, on-chain tracking blogger ZachXBT shared this article but later unshared it, leaving only a comment below. The analysis revealed that market maker DWF Labs was hacked in September 2022 by a hacker group linked to North Korea called AppleJeus, resulting in the theft of at least $44 million. The stolen funds were primarily stablecoins USDC and USDT. These funds were later transferred to the Bitcoin network via the REN cross-chain bridge, where they remained untouched for a long time. The reason this incident has resurfaced now is that the funds related to this event have started being deposited into the Bitcoin mixer Mixero, suspected to be fully laundered.
