According to FOX 4, residents of Hood County, Texas, are planning to hold a referendum to establish a new town called 'Mitchell Bend' in order to limit noise from Bitcoin mining farms. Bitcoin mining company Mara Holdings intends to block the election and has filed a lawsuit in federal court, claiming the residents' petition is invalid and officials are colluding. The mining farm operates over 60,000 ASIC machines day and night, and residents say the noise is disruptive. The court will rule next week on whether to halt the vote before it officially takes place.
