**[Bank Negara Malaysia Releases Three-Year Roadmap, Plans to Pilot Asset Tokenization Projects]**
Odaily Planet Daily News: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has unveiled a three-year roadmap, aiming to pilot asset tokenization projects within the financial system. The initiative will be launched through the Digital Asset Innovation Hub (DAIH), established earlier this year, to conduct multiple proof-of-concept (POC) and practical pilot projects.
The core of the roadmap includes the establishment of the Asset Tokenization Industry Working Group (IWG), jointly led by the central bank and the Securities Commission (SC). The group will be responsible for driving industry exploration, knowledge sharing, and regulatory coordination. The initial pilot projects will focus on application scenarios with clear economic value, such as supply chain financing to expand credit access for small and medium enterprises, tokenized liquidity management to enhance settlement efficiency, and compliance applications for automatically executing Islamic financial transactions.
BNM also plans to study tokenized deposits denominated in Malaysian Ringgit and stablecoin solutions to ensure monetary consistency and improve digital settlement efficiency. Additionally, it will explore integration with wholesale central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).
This project aims to modernize financial infrastructure in sync with other Asian regulatory bodies, such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). (Cointelegraph)
