brevis has another tech update!
Previously, @brevis_zk released Pico Prism,
achieving real-time proof of Ethereum blocks:
99.6% of blocks are completed within 12 seconds, and 96.8% within 10 seconds.
They even mentioned that in the future, it might be possible to verify Ethereum using a mobile phone.
Before brevis introduced this technology, the challenge was that every Ethereum validator had to re-execute every transaction in each block. This required expensive hardware and bandwidth, making it impossible to run validators on phones or laptops.
@brevis_zk changed this situation by using zero-knowledge proofs, which only need to generate cryptographic proofs once. These proofs are small, and the computational effort required to verify them is several orders of magnitude less than re-execution.
Pico Prism achieved 96.8% of blocks proven within 10 seconds, with an average proof time of 6.9 seconds. The Ethereum Foundation's goal is 99% within 10 seconds. Currently, @brevis_zk is just 2.2% away, nearing production-level adoption.
Brevis is developing solutions. They say their goal is to reduce the GPUs used for proof generation from 64 to 16, cutting hardware costs in half, and even enabling household devices to participate in proof generation.
Looking further ahead, they hope that even mobile phones will be able to directly verify chain data. At that point, decentralization will no longer be just a slogan—it will truly be something that can run in everyone's pocket.
