[Design of the U.S. Treasury's $1 Trump Commemorative Coin Criticized by Lawmakers for Alleged Connection to Meme Coin TRUMP] According to The Block, the U.S. Treasury is preparing to issue a $1 coin featuring the image of former President Trump. This news has sparked outrage among some lawmakers, who claim the design on the back of the coin is linked to the Meme coin TRUMP, which is shocking. On Thursday, during a nomination hearing held by the Senate Banking Committee, Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen questioned Paul Hollis, the nominee for the next director of the U.S. Mint, about the coin's design. The front of the coin features Trump's portrait, while the back depicts Trump standing in front of the American flag, raising his fist, with the words "Fight, Fight, Fight" written on both sides. This slogan is also the name of the company behind the Meme coin TRUMP. Senator Van Hollen stated on Thursday: "It is illegal to feature the portrait of a president on official coins, and what’s even more infuriating is the apparent connection to the Meme coin design from which the president profits. To me, this is blatantly obvious." When asked about the coin, Mint director nominee Paul Hollis responded that he is "100% committed to always adhering to the law."
