[Bitcoin Mining Company Riot Reports Q3 Revenue of $180.2 Million, Net Profit of $104.5 Million]
According to The Block, Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms (RIOT) announced record-breaking third-quarter revenue. For the three months ending September 30, revenue reached $180.2 million, with a net profit of $104.5 million, compared to total revenue of just $84.8 million in the same period last year. The revenue growth was primarily driven by an increase of $93.3 million in Bitcoin mining income, with 1,406 BTC mined this quarter, up from 1,104 BTC in the same period of 2024. Global hash rate surged 52% quarter-over-quarter, leading to higher mining costs. The average cost per BTC mined this quarter, excluding depreciation, was $46,324, compared to $35,376 in the same period last year. Fortunately, increased electricity credits partially offset the costs. In the first half of 2025, due to capital expenditures driving the transition to high-performance computing and AI, the company reported a net loss of $76.9 million. Riot's sustainability largely depends on its reserve of nearly 20,000 BTC, valued at over $2 billion. Data shows that the company's Bitcoin reserves rank second among mining companies and seventh among all publicly listed companies.
