[OpenAI Launches Secret Project to Train AI for Junior Bankers' Tedious Tasks] According to a report by Jinse Finance, OpenAI is reportedly leveraging over 100 former investment banking professionals to train its artificial intelligence on how to build financial models, aiming to replace the time-consuming and labor-intensive tasks typically performed by junior bankers in the industry. The team includes former employees from JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs, and is part of a confidential internal project at OpenAI codenamed 'Mercury.' A source familiar with the matter stated that participants are paid $150 per hour and are responsible for drafting prompts and building financial models for various transactions, including restructurings and initial public offerings (IPOs). OpenAI has also granted participants early access to the AI it is developing, which is designed to take over entry-level tasks in investment banking.
