Kenya and Mozambique have strong and cordial bilateral and diplomatic relations that go back 50 years. These ties have been boosted by trade and economic agreements on agriculture, the blue economy and investment.
In August 2023, I made a historic State Visit to Mozambique during which 8 memoranda of understanding were signed. They include cooperation in value addition of tea, sugar and coffee.
Other issues covered include bilateral cooperation in the blue economy, legal assistance and public service training.
Held talks with Mozambique Prime Minister Maria Benvinda Levy, State House Nairobi. We appreciated the 2018 90-day visa waiver for citizens of our two countries, noting that it has increased people-to-people interactions.(William Samoei Ruto, PhD)
