Thought for the day:
If you are a gifted, highly trained tennis player at the top of your game, and next year you focus on game strategy but stop getting coached, by the end of the year you'll be getting regularly beaten by your peers.
Substitute in the word "CEO", "founder", "technology entrepreneur" or leader" - same applies
Because in each case you've surrendered a significant generator of marginal gains to your peers
The failure of the entire finance and tech sector to learn from the most basic principles in sport is one of the most easy-to-tap sources of competitive advantage to each of those sectors
So why don't they do it?
Same reason most people work hard for money that others can print.
They made the mistake of assuming that the world is
rational, optimal and working to their advantage
If you are working on a mission you claim is important to you, but you haven't borrowed from the most basic principles of sport then your reward will be getting whipped by those who do (while grinding, working long hours and failing to grow to your potential).(Daniel Batten)
