[Trust Wallet Responds to Early Version Vulnerability Rumors: Issue Fixed in 2018, No User Assets Affected]
The Trust Wallet Chinese channel published a statement clarifying recent community discussions regarding vulnerabilities in early wallet versions from 2018. The vulnerability originated from a third-party open-source random number library commonly used in the industry at the time, which was fixed in July 2018 and documented in the open-source Wallet Core library.
The official statement noted that approximately 10,000 early users were affected, all of whom were notified and completed asset migration without any losses. Wallets created after July 2018 are not impacted. Trust Wallet now employs audited cryptographic libraries and high-strength random number algorithms, continuously enhancing security through independent audits and bug bounty programs.
The team also plans to launch a "Wallet Security Awareness Series" to educate users on mnemonic phrases and random number security principles, reiterating its core commitment to transparency and security.
