Cybersecurity matters for every Jamaican. This Cybersecurity Week, Director of the Cyber Incident Response Team (JaCIRT), Lt. Col. (Ret’d) Godphey Sterling, reminds us that one of our biggest mistakes is thinking, “it won’t happen to us.” Too often, we overshare online, underestimate our digital footprint, or use systems that aren’t properly secured, putting our personal data at risk. We are all digital citizens. For individuals, that means protecting your devices because “you carry your life in your pocket.” For businesses, it means treating data as your new currency, collecting, storing, and disposing of it securely. By being more careful and responsible online, we can all contribute to a safer digital Jamaica.(Andrew Holness)
