BIS SURVEY: ASIAN CURRENCIES GAIN IN GLOBAL FX Asian currencies grew their share of global forex turnover, the BIS reports. The yuan rose to 8.5% (from 7.0%), the Hong Kong dollar to 3.8% (from 2.6%), and the yen edged up to 16.8%. The rupee climbed to 1.9% (from 1.6%), while the rupiah doubled its share to 0.7% (from 0.4%).(*Walter Bloomberg)
