[Paul Chan: Hong Kong Stock Market IPO Fundraising Total Nears HKD 150 Billion, Ranks First Globally]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan stated in his blog that the performance of Hong Kong's financial market has been outstanding this year. For example, the total amount of IPO fundraising has so far approached HKD 150 billion, ranking first globally, with a significant increase in participation from international long-term funds. The atmosphere in the Hong Kong stock market has been buoyant, with the Hang Seng Index rising over 30% cumulatively this year. Trading activity has reached a historic high, with an average daily turnover exceeding HKD 250 billion. In the first eight months of this year, the refinancing amount of listed companies was nearly three times the IPO fundraising amount, reflecting the depth and vibrancy of the Hong Kong market. He further noted that the active IPO market, capital inflows, and robust trading activity have also positively impacted the performance of A-shares, creating a strong synergy between the capital markets of Hong Kong and Mainland China.
