The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand has announced the launch of the 'TouristDigiPay' pilot program, aimed at providing foreign tourists with the convenience of converting digital assets into Thai Baht for payment of travel-related expenses and consumption. According to the official statement, digital asset operators can submit applications between September 25 and December 26. Eligible participants include digital asset exchanges, brokers, and dealers, who must collaborate with electronic money service providers to ensure the converted Thai Baht can be used for purchasing goods and services. The program seeks to promote tourism development through digital asset payments while driving innovative applications in Thailand's digital finance sector.
