["'Wood Sister' Says U.S. AI Race Dominated by Four Major Companies, Meta Not Included"]
Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of Ark Investment Management, stated that the U.S. artificial intelligence sector is already dominated by four major companies. The star investor mentioned that OpenAI, Anthropic, Elon Musk's xAI, and Google's Gemini are competing fiercely for dominance. She noted that ultimately, the current four contenders may narrow down to two.
In a recent interview, Wood remarked, "The number of companies truly competing in the large language model (LLM) space has already decreased." She added that the recent "talent acquisitions" by OpenAI and Meta are further examples of how the AI field is becoming increasingly consolidated, with "other companies unable to keep up."
It is worth noting that Meta is not among the four major companies Wood referred to.
