According to a report by Jinse Finance, the White House is considering nominating Josh Sterling as the Chairman of the CFTC.
Josh Sterling previously served as the Director of the Market Participants Division at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). His responsibilities at the CFTC included overseeing registered participant institutions in the U.S. derivatives market, such as banks, intermediaries, and asset management companies; ensuring compliance with reporting rules, registration requirements, and trading activity regulations. He also participated in the CFTC's rulemaking efforts under the Dodd-Frank Act and advanced several landmark enforcement cases.
Sterling is currently a partner at the law firm Milbank, focusing on regulatory and enforcement matters in areas such as derivatives, financial market infrastructure, and cryptocurrency.
