A couple of days ago, a friend working on a wallet for the Southeast Asian market said: 'Most users there are on Android phones, but many DeFi apps either don’t have mobile versions or the experience is so bad it drives people away.'
This is a long-overlooked fact: if Web3 wants to go mainstream, mobile is an unavoidable battleground.
This reminded me that @defidotapp had already launched a beta version on Android earlier, with the goal of lowering the barrier for users to get started.
Just imagine: a one-stop DeFi experience directly on your phone—no bridging, no KYC, self-custody + seamless cross-chain functionality.
If the experience can be smooth and secure, this could mark the moment DeFi truly enters the mainstream market.
But challenges remain: how can mobile ensure key security? And with large-scale usage, is the model of subsidizing gas fees in the background sustainable?
The adoption of mobile DeFi is a longer-term story. Whether DefiDotApp can become the breakthrough is definitely worth watching.
