Compound DAO has rejected a proposal to revoke special delegate voting rights. Starting in 2024, the plan would allocate 300,000 COMP tokens (approximately $13 million) from the treasury for a Delegate Race to boost governance participation. Although DeFi whale Humpy supported the proposal and leveraged over $3 million in voting power, around 70% of voters ultimately opposed the revocation. Some beneficiary delegates, such as PGov and Arana Digital, also voted against it. An anonymous delegate stated that this outcome helps prevent the protocol from facing 'DAO Capture,' where whales manipulate the DAO by concentrating governance power.
