The Nobel Prize in Physics and Chemistry has already been awarded to AI scientists. Could the Nobel Prize in Economics be going to a crypto leader soon?
This year, Nobel laureate Eugene Fama said at the beginning of the year that Bitcoin has fundamental flaws and will almost certainly go to zero within ten years.
But he also said: If Bitcoin doesn’t collapse, we’ll have to start over and rethink monetary theory.
“If Bitcoin maintains its value in the long term, economists will need to fundamentally rethink their understanding of money and markets.”
It’s a bit of a shame that the Nobel Prize can’t be awarded to anonymous individuals, or it would’ve gone to Satoshi Nakamoto long ago. Last year, some economists even called for it to be awarded to Vitalik.
