Seeing a lot of friends writing about Ondo lately, so I took some time today to try out @OndoFinance's on-chain US stock trading product. Unfortunately, you actually need to apply for eligibility, and after waiting for a few hours, I’m still on the waitlist, so I could only check out the interface for now.
Gotta say, the web interface is really nice—totally matches my personal aesthetic. I compared the liquidity, and if you were to buy 3,000 shares of TSLA, it might cost about $1,200 more than using Futu. Probably because it uses an AMM instead of an order book, but it’s definitely way better than something like xStock.
I’ll share more reviews once I get approved, but here’s something interesting I noticed today:
In Ondo’s thank-you list, they included OK Wallet, Bitget Wallet, Trust Wallet, and a bunch of CEXs—even smaller ones like LBank made the list. But Binance/Binance Wallet is noticeably absent.
This either means Binance isn’t interested in bringing US stocks on-chain, or they’re super bullish on this space and want to build their own thing. What do you think the answer is?
