[Europol's Bounty on Russian Crypto Ransomware Group Turns Out to Be a Hoax] According to a report by Jinse Finance, a claim that Europol offered a $50,000 bounty to track down the administrators of the Russian ransomware group Qilin is actually just a Telegram scam. This fake bounty announcement misled several cybersecurity news outlets into believing that Europol would reward anyone who could provide information on Qilin administrators Haise and XORacle. It was alleged that these two individuals were responsible for 'coordinating affiliates and overseeing ransomware operations,' and Europol was seeking intelligence that could 'directly lead to the identification or location of these administrators.' However, Europol confirmed to Security Week that this so-called bounty is actually a 'hoax,' and the agency has never issued such a reward.
