AI crash = Crypto crash I think the AI bubble this time is seriously overhyped. The market has poured massive amounts of capital into the AI craze, from Palantir, Tesla, Meta, Google, to the entire Nasdaq. This bubble is different from the past—data centers, as foundational infrastructure, won’t just vanish overnight; they do have real value. But the overall valuations right now are simply way too high. Meta recently underwent a major restructuring of its AI division, and there are reports of layoffs, suggesting that capital might be returning to rationality. OpenAI launched GPT‑5, and while it showed improvements in benchmarks, its overall performance fell far short of the expected "exponential growth." OpenAI CEO Sam Altman boldly pointed out that AI investments are overheated, warning that some people might lose big money. He urged the market to focus on fundamentals to avoid repeating the mistakes of past bubbles. Some economists are even cautioning that this AI bubble could be worse than the dot‑com crash. Apollo’s chief economist Torsten Sløk believes many tech stocks have already significantly deviated from their fundamentals. A report from MIT revealed that 95% of investors see no tangible returns from generative AI, with the market generally overestimating its potential. Experts are warning that if the bubble bursts, AI-heavy stocks like Nvidia could plummet sharply, dealing a blow to the stock market and the crypto market. I believe the foundation of AI remains intact—its technology and infrastructure have value—but right now, it’s entirely driven by hype. If this bubble truly bursts, it could drag down the overall stock market and even the crypto market, with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies likely to be impacted. Even if the U.S. cuts interest rates in September or October, it doesn’t necessarily mean Bitcoin will soar to $200K. On the contrary, the risk of Bitcoin retesting $90K or $80K in December is higher. Smaller altcoins typically experience even sharper corrections, so if your coins are performing well, now might be a good time to gradually take profits. This is also the strategy I mentioned in my video.
