The US Treasury Department sanctioned Tornado Cash a year ago

On August 8, 2022, the US Treasury Department added the decentralized mixing protocol Tornado Cash to its sanctions list, prohibiting US citizens from using it. This is the first time that the United States has taken sanctions against decentralized finance.
